An immense mausoleum of white marble, built in Agra between 1631 and 1648 by order of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favourite wife, the Taj Mahal is the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world’s heritage.The Taj Mahal is considered to be the greatest architectural achievement in the whole range of Indo-Islamic architecture. Its recognised architectonic beauty has a rhythmic combination of solids and voids, concave and convex and light shadow; such as arches and domes further increases the aesthetic aspect. The colour combination of lush green scape reddish pathway and blue sky over it show cases the monument in ever changing tints and moods. The relief work in marble and inlay with precious and semi precious stones make it a monument apart.

The <b>Charminar</b> is a monument and mosque in Hyderabad, India. The structure was built in 1591 AD. It is the most famous building of Hyderabad and also one of the most famous buildings in India.<sup id=”cite_ref-3″ class=”reference”>[3]</sup> It was built by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shahi to celebrate the end of a deadly plague.<sup id=”cite_ref-autogenerated2_4-0″ class=”reference”>[4]</sup> The Charminar lies near the bank of the river Musi. It is close to Laad Bazaar and Makkah Masjid.<sup id=”cite_ref-autogenerated2_4-1″ class=”reference”>[4]</sup> Charminar is taken from two words <i>Char</i> and <i>Minar</i> which translate as <i>Four Towers</i> in English.<sup id=”cite_ref-autogenerated2_4-2″ class=”reference”>[4]</sup>
Some people write Charminar was the first structure to be constructed in the newly built city of Hyderabad.<sup id=”cite_ref-UNESCO_5-0″ class=”reference”>[5]</sup> It is said that Quli Qutab Shahi prayed for the end of the plague and vowed to build a mosque if it was eradicated.<sup id=”cite_ref-I-Radio_6-0″ class=”reference”>[6]</sup> Mir Momin Astarabadi, the prime minister of Qutb Shah played an important role in the design and layout of Charminar and the city of Hyderabad.
